Role description
Looking for a Business Analyst with our client in Oak Brook, Illinois. 3 days on site. What You’ll Do: • Gather, document, and prioritize business requirements (user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria). • Translate utility customer ops and credit & collections needs into clear functional specs for Oracle CC&B. • Perform data analysis using SQL (ad hoc queries, data validation, trend analysis, reconciliations). • Support configuration, testing (SIT/UAT), and release readiness; triage defects and track to closure. • Map and improve processes across customer service, billing, payments, collections, and field operations. • Create and maintain BA artifacts (BRDs/FRDs, RTMs, decision logs, test cases). • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (business, architects, developers, QA) and communicate status/risks. • Contribute to change management, training materials, and production support as needed. Must‑Have Qualifications: • Oracle Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) hands‑on experience (requirements, configuration exposure, or support). • Background in utility customer operations (customer service, billing, payments, meter-to-cash). • Background in credit & collections within a utility context (dunning, payment arrangements, write‑offs). • Proficiency in SQL for querying, data validation, and analysis. • Strong documentation, stakeholder management, and communication skills. Nice‑to‑Have: • Experience with other CIS platforms (e.g., Oracle Utilities suite, MDM, payment gateways). • Knowledge of meter‑to‑cash processes, billing rates/tariffs, payment plans, and exception handling. • Exposure to Agile/Scrum (user stories, backlogs, sprint ceremonies) and tools like Jira/Confluence. • Familiarity with testing practices (SIT/UAT), test management tools, and defect tracking. • Reporting/BI experience (e.g., building simple dashboards or extracts from SQL outputs).
