Who Weโre Looking For:
Our Client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support IT project initiatives by gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements throughout the project lifecycle. This role plays a critical part in ensuring effective communication between technical teams and business stakeholders. The selected candidate will work closely with developers, testers, product owners, and project managers, and will serve as the Scrum Master on assigned projects.
Candidates must reside within one hour of Lansing, MI, and be available to work onsite two days per week from day one, with the expectation to transition to full-time onsite as required. The first four weeks will require full in-person attendance. This position does not offer a remote-only option.
Responsibilities:
Gather, analyze, and document clear, testable, and unambiguous business requirements.
Facilitate meetings with stakeholders and project teams to gather input and validate requirements.
Act as Scrum Master, managing backlogs and facilitating Agile ceremonies using Azure DevOps.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure SEM (System Engineering Methodology) artifacts are completed in compliance with DTMB/MDOS standards.
Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories.
Maintain awareness of project scope and ensure requirements align with objectives.
Coordinate with UI/UX designers, developers, QA testers, and solution architects to ensure shared understanding of functionality and system requirements.
Support โBuild vs. Buyโ decisions with business analysis and cost-benefit data.
Document and analyze current ("as-is") and future-state ("to-be") processes and workflows.
Provide input on product roadmaps and help guide feature prioritization.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 Years Of Experience As a Business Analyst.
Minimum 5 years of experience with Azure DevOps, including creating epics, features, user stories, and managing cards through the project lifecycle.
Minimum 5 years of Quality Assurance (QA) knowledge and experience.
Strong understanding of BA, QA, and Developer roles and responsibilities.
Proven experience in documenting and analyzing as-is and to-be business processes.
At least 3 years of experience creating product roadmaps.
Familiarity with Agile and Project Management methodologies (minimum 3 years).
Proficient in business analysis tools such as Figma and Microsoft Visio (minimum 3 years).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Comfortable facilitating meetings, gathering requirements, and driving alignment across diverse teams.
Currently reside within a 1-hour commute of Lansing, MI and adhere to hybrid/onsite work requirements.
Willing and able to work fully onsite for the first 4 weeks, and transition to 5 days onsite per week if required.
