Business Analyst - Commodities Trading
📍 Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
💰 Rate: £650–£800/day (Inside IR35)
📅 Contract: 6 months initially
Cititec is partnering with a leading financial firm to hire a skilled Business Analyst to help shape technology solutions that support commodity trading strategies.
In this role, you’ll act as the bridge between business and technology, capturing requirements, designing practical solutions, and working closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver impactful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyse and interpret requirements in support of the Markets and Treasury division
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, product owners, and market stakeholders
• Translate complex business needs into actionable development backlogs (Epics, Features, and User Stories)
• Conduct end-to-end business analysis, including requirements gathering, solution design, documentation, and backlog refinement
• Contribute to testing activities, including unit, QA, and regression testing
Requirements:
• Hands-on experience as a business analyst within financial services, commodities trading, or a related financial industry environment
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Technical proficiency with SQL and Excel (including lookups, pivot tables, charts, etc.)
• Ability to create clear, detailed documentation and manage structured backlogs
• Hands-on testing skills (unit and QA testing)
• Experience working directly with Front Office teams is highly desirable
