Business Analyst

Job Title: Business Systems Analyst Location: OPEN TO FULLY REMOTE - PREFERENCE TO CANDIDATES LOCAL TO CHARLOTTE AND MINNEAPOLIS WORKING HOURS: 8-5PM CST Duration: Through Dec 2025 (potential extension into the first half of next year) ABOUT THIS ROLE/REQUIREMENTS: A successful Business System Analyst should possess the following traits: 1. Analytical Thinking: The ability to critically evaluate business processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop effective solutions. This involves gathering and analyzing data, understanding complex systems, and making data-driven decisions. 1. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively collaborating with stakeholders, understanding their needs, and conveying technical information in a clear and concise manner. This includes the ability to create detailed documentation and present findings to diverse audiences. 1. Problem-Solving Abilities: A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues is crucial. This includes the capacity to think creatively, anticipate potential challenges, and implement innovative solutions that align with business objectives. Candidate should have 5-7 years of experience. Project & Work Overview • Part of a system conversion project — migration from AFS (system of record) to a new cloud-based version (Azure SQL). • Responsibilities include: • Mapping old data feeds to new data feeds. • Validating and testing output. • Interfacing with customers using the data for reporting. • Writing queries against SQL Server databases. • Performing data analysis, documentation, data typing, frequency checks, and trending. • Working with DB engineers to design and model new system outputs/tables. • • Tools/Skills: • Proficiency in T-SQL is critical. • Experience with SQL Server; other tools like SAS, Toad, etc., acceptable if transferable. • • Preferred: • Financial industry background (especially commercial loan data) is preferred but not required. • Loan systems/database management experience is a plus. • Cloud experience not required beyond setting up ODBC connections Interview Process • Typically 1 round for BSA roles; up to 2 rounds max if more technical depth is needed. • Possible technical assessment in second round. Work Balance • Initially more independent data analysis; shifts to 50/50 split between analysis and stakeholder interaction over time.
