Essential Expertise And Scope Of Work The Senior Business Analyst serves as the primary technical liaison between data providers (hospitals, labs, HIE) and internal IT staff, ensuring the integrity and functionality of the NBS system. β€’ Data Investigation and SQL Analysis (7+ Years Required) β€’ SQL Expertise: Extensive SQL skills required, including writing, refining, and analyzing SQL queries to answer questions and resolve system/data issues (7 years required). β€’ Root Cause Analysis: Research and resolve complex front-end/user and back-end/system problems by diagnosing the root cause, hypothesizing solutions, and testing fixes. β€’ Data Monitoring: Assist end users in monitoring and analyzing their data via SQL querying and reporting. β€’ Quality Assurance & Debugging (7+ Years Required) β€’ Testing Strategy: Work through complex issues that include creating test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts mapped to workflow and system design requirements (7 years required). β€’ Debugging: Strong experience debugging applications to replicate, isolate, and identify root causes while providing workarounds and testing fixes/patches in QA environments (7 years required). β€’ Issue Resolution: Resolve issues by engaging appropriate business/policy staff, software developers, and vendor specialists. β€’ Systems and Domain Knowledge β€’ Mission Critical System: Direct involvement with the NEDSS Base System (NBS), which manages and transmits reportable disease data (ELR/eCR) to the CDC. β€’ Stakeholder Communication: Responsible for all communication with electronic lab report (ELR) and electronic case report (eCR) data providers, hospitals, laboratories, clinics, and the Health Information Exchange (HIE). β€’ Domain Preference: Experience in the public health or medical-related industry is highly desired.
