Business Analyst

6 Month Engagement - Short Availability Required We are supporting a UK financial services organisation delivering a collections and recoveries transformation programme aimed at improving operational efficiency, strengthening regulatory controls and enhancing customer outcomes. They are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong structured analysis skills, process modelling capability and collections domain experience. This role will work closely with operations, risk, technology and product teams to analyse current processes, design future-state solutions and support delivery of operational and system improvements. Key Responsibilities • Analyse and document As-Is collections and recoveries processes across operations and supporting systems • Design and model To-Be processes using formal modelling techniques (e.g. BPMN / UML) • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders across operations, technology, risk and compliance • Produce clear and structured functional specifications, requirements documentation and business rules • Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria and functional artefacts for delivery teams • Support system and process improvements across collections platforms and workflows • Conduct data analysis and data mapping to support reporting, remediation or process improvement initiatives • Ensure solutions align with regulatory requirements, operational controls and credit risk frameworks • Work closely with delivery and engineering teams to ensure requirements are well defined and implementable Key Skills & Experience • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within banking or financial services • Strong experience working within collections, recoveries or lending operations • Experience producing structured analysis artefacts and formal documentation • Strong knowledge of process modelling techniques such as BPMN or UML • Experience using process modelling tools (Visio, Signavio, Lucidchart, Draw.io or similar) • Ability to produce detailed functional specifications including technical considerations • Experience analysing operational or system data using structured techniques (Excel, SQL or similar tools) • Good understanding of regulatory, credit risk and operational controls within financial services
