Role description
Business Analyst – SharePoint Modernization Project Permanent Residents only – Visa sponsorship is not available We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst (BA) to join our team on a high-impact SharePoint Modernization project. This individual will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring business needs are captured, documented, and successfully translated into technical solutions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly collaborative, and skilled in requirements gathering, process mapping, and enterprise-scale IT project delivery. Key Responsibilities General Business Analyst Duties β€’ Define and document business requirements for IT projects, including ERP and SharePoint initiatives β€’ Write clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria for development teams β€’ Facilitate requirements sessions, refinement sessions, and IT discovery/prioritization meetings β€’ Support the RFP process for upcoming enterprise projects β€’ Perform process mapping and analysis to improve efficiency β€’ Coordinate QA and UAT activities β€’ Facilitate CAB change management processes β€’ Collaborate with business and IT teams to evaluate solutions, manage scope, and support adoption SharePoint Modernization Specific Duties β€’ Inventory and categorize applications, data, sites, and subsites for migration planning β€’ Define disposition plans for legacy on-prem SharePoint 2016 farms: β€’ Migrate to SharePoint Online (Microsoft 365), or β€’ Transition to SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE) β€’ Support process documentation and migration planning β€’ Serve as a technical point of contact (POC) for SharePoint migrations Qualifications Education β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent industry experience) β€’ CBAP certification preferred Experience β€’ 7+ years as an IT Business Analyst on medium-to-large scale projects β€’ Demonstrated experience with SharePoint modernization or migration projects strongly preferred β€’ Hands-on experience with business requirements, process mapping, and solution evaluation Skills & Abilities β€’ Strong facilitation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills β€’ Skilled in requirements modeling, process documentation, and user story development β€’ Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile/Lean methodologies β€’ Proficient in MS Excel, SQL, Visio; TFS experience a plus β€’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels β€’ Ability to build strong partnerships and influence decision-making β€’ Strong business acumen and ability to define/mature capability roadmaps
