Job Title: Business Analyst
Location: Topeka, KS
Position: Onsite
Duration: Long Term
Role Summary:
The Business Analyst will serve as a critical liaison between stakeholders and the project team, ensuring that business needs are accurately captured and translated into actionable requirements for the new Transportation Engineering CADD system. This role combines responsibilities for requirements gathering, market research, evaluation coordination, and procurement support.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering: Conduct interviews and workshops with staff to document current workflows, pain points, and future-state requirements.
Market Research: Analyze vendor capabilities, industry trends, and best practices to inform RFP development.
Evaluation Coordination: Develop scoring templates, facilitate evaluation sessions, and ensure compliance with procurement protocols.
Procurement Support: Assist in drafting RFP sections, preparing evaluation materials, and supporting vendor demonstrations and reference checks.
Communication: Maintain clear documentation and provide regular updates to the Project Manager and leadership.
Skills and Experience:
Strong background in business process analysis and requirements documentation.
Familiarity with transportation engineering or CADD systems required.
Experience with public-sector procurement processes and RFP development preferred.
Excellent facilitation and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
Location:
Primary work will be remote, but onsite presence in Topeka, Kansas is required for key stakeholder workshops, interviews, and evaluation sessions as outlined in the Task Order.
The Task Order outlines approximately 37 stakeholder engagement sessions, with a mix of onsite and virtual meetings during the Needs Assessment and Market Research phases. Local Topeka resource, or someone willing to travel for these engagement sessions, is required.
