Location: Richmond, VA preferred for onsite 2 days/week and high chances of remote

About the Role
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Business Data Analyst with strong expertise in MS Project, Power BI, and enterprise scheduling/reporting tools. This individual will play a critical role in supporting the Accelerate Cloud and Colo Program by managing large-scale project schedules, ensuring data integrity, and building impactful data-driven dashboards for executive decision-making.
The ideal candidate is proactive, thrives on automation and process improvement, and is comfortable working with executives who require on-demand insights into project timelines, risks, and dependencies.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Manage and optimize MS Project schedules (35,000+ tasks across ~15 project plans) as a backend database.
β’ Create custom filters, schedule templates, and data cleanup processes to maintain integrity and accuracy.
β’ Build and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards for project reporting and executive insights.
β’ Export, map, and transform data between MS Project, Power BI, SharePoint Lists, and Planview (PPM Pro).
β’ Investigate and ensure predecessor/successor task dependencies are accurate and consistent.
β’ Support migration of schedules to Planview (PPM Pro) and validate usability as a database.
β’ Leverage Excel (advanced formulas, macros, automation) to streamline reporting processes.
β’ Use Visio for process flows and reporting visualization where needed.
β’ Drive process improvement and automation initiatives across scheduling and reporting functions.
β’ Provide ad-hoc analysis and rapid reporting for executives and stakeholders to support critical program decisions.
β’ Collaborate with a small team (6 members) while independently owning deliverables.
Required Skills & Qualifications
β’ U.S. Citizenship (mandatory).
β’ 7+ years of professional experience in Business/Data Analysis, BI, or PMO reporting.
β’ Advanced expertise in Microsoft Project: custom filters, data cleanup, integrity checks, database-style usage.
β’ Strong experience with Power BI: building dashboards, integrating project data, and delivering insights.
β’ Skilled in data transformation, mapping, and exports to/from Power BI, SharePoint Lists, and Planview.
β’ Excel Power User: ability to automate processes, create macros, and enable advanced reporting.
β’ Hands-on experience with Planview (PPM Pro) and/or other PPM tools.
β’ Visio for process and workflow documentation.
β’ Strong skills in process improvement, automation, and data quality management.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present insights to executives.
β’ Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable to changing priorities.
