Location: New York City, NY (3 Days Onsite - Hybrid)
Duration: 6+ Months (with possible extension)
Pay Rate: $70-$80/hr. (Depending upon the experience)
Must haves:-
Data Governance, Data Metrics, Data Analytics - super important
Tableau Reporting for creating dashboards
data implementation, remediation and data quality issues handling exp.
JIRA, SQL - must
3 to 5 years of coding exp.
Python/Jupyter (Any one is fine as person needs to know coding)
strong Advanced Excel exp. & PowerPoint too
some basic knowledge of risk & control space or market risk including products exp. Such as fixed income/derivatives is a plus.
Job Description:
Business Analytics Analyst
The role will be part of a core central data analytics project delivery team, charged with ensuring the timely execution of deliverables across multiple workstreams, whilst imparting their subject matter expertise and know-how of business analytics techniques and delivery.
The candidate must be an individual experienced in data analytics, with both hands-on skill and with sufficient domain knowledge to be able to provide meaningful solutions that are functional and sustainable.
Primary Responsibilities
β’ Support the Metrics and Data Controls Lead in the development of a best-in-class platform to provide meaningful insights into the causes of data quality issues so that remediation efforts can be focused to drive Risk Reduction
β’ Write data and feature specifications utilizing Control outputs and work with Technology partners to develop new analytics capabilities.
β’ Compile insightful, actionable analysis of trends against Data Quality Indicators to support decision making by senior management.
β’ Plan and co-ordinate UAT activities for new business analytics capabilities.
β’ Provide hands-on technical data support for the Price Risk Metrics and Control Analytics initiative.
β’ Identify Risks & Issues and proactively seek to resolve or escalate them in a timely and well-articulated manner.
β’ Have relevant industry experience within the Financial Industry, preferably within Business / Data Control Analytics
β’ Be self-starting with proven ability to hit the ground running.
β’ Handle complexity, ambiguity and a fast changing, often demanding work environment.
β’ Drive change to business practices by working effectively across a global organization.
β’ Demonstrate analytical skills with follow-up and problem-solving capability.
Key Skills Required
β’ Excellent attention to detail when analyzing and documenting data and business requirements
β’ Understanding of the key data quality themes typically experienced at the touchpoints between processes in large complex technology environments.
β’ Ability to work off own initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and better data insight.
β’ Use of Python / Jupyter notebooks to analyze data.
β’ Use of SQL to analyze data.
β’ Good Tableau skills to support data analysis and develop storytelling through efficient visualizations.
β’ Background in using advanced Tableau reporting / analytics capabilities to support Control / Business Data Analytics
β’ Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
β’ Excellent attention to detail along with problem solving and analytical skills.
Key Skills Preferred
β’ Good understanding of Control points in Price Risk Front Office valuation processes and their interaction with Market Risk Management and Product Control.
β’ Strong business and data analysis skills
β’ Bachelors/University degree, Masterβs degree preferred
β’ Exposure to python data science libraries (e.g., SciKit-Learn) a plus.
β’ Excellent oral and written communications skills; must be able to use language efficiently and succinctly to deliver targeted messaging to senior stakeholders.
