Job Title: Business Data Analyst β Power BI
Position Type: Multi-Year Contract
Location: Stamford, CT (remote with 1 day onsite every two weeks β Travel to Office at own expense)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BIβData Analyst/Business Analyst to support the FINANCE department by delivering advanced reporting and analytics solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, a solid working knowledge of Databricks, and the ability to act as a liaison between FINANCE stakeholders and technical teams.
This role requires a combination of data analysis, project management, and business acumen, ideally with a background in finance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, enhance, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI using DAX formulas, semantic models, and Power BI Service features.
1. Connect Power BI to Databricks to extract, prepare, and visualize structured and transformed data.
1. Collaborate with the HR manager and stakeholders to gather requirements, manage expectations, and deliver actionable insights.
1. Serve as a business analyst, translating business needs into data requirements and ensuring clear communication across technical and non-technical teams.
1. Take ownership of project timelines and delivery, independently managing analytics projects from conception to execution.
1. Work with data marts to ensure data structures support reporting needs and performance efficiency.
1. Provide ad hoc reporting and strategic insights to support decision-making within the HR department.
1. Qualifications:
1. 3+ years of experience in Power BI development, including DAX, data modeling, and Power BI Service administration.
1. 1+ years of experience using Databricks for data preparation, transformation, and integration with Power BI.
1. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to function as a business analyst.
1. Proven project management experience with a proactive, self-starter mindset.
1. Understanding of data marts and modern data architectures.
1. Experience in HR or finance domains is a strong plus, but not required.
1. Bachelorβs degree in data science, information systems, business analytics, or a related field preferred.
Preferred Skills:
1. Familiarity with SQL and data engineering concepts.
1. Knowledge of HR systems (e.g., Workday, ADP) and HR metrics/KPIs.
1. Exposure to Agile project methodologies
