Job Title: Systems Analyst 3 (Business Data Analyst)
Location: Austin, Texas 78751 (Hybrid, mostly remote)
Duration: 12+ Months (Strong possibility of extension)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Business Data Analyst (Systems Analyst 3) to support a large-scale enterprise IT initiative. This is a senior-level role requiring expertise in business analysis, data workflows, and Agile methodologies.
This is not a core “Data Analyst” position. Instead, the role focuses on requirements analysis, documentation, and data workflow optimization to ensure technology solutions align with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze business objectives, processes, and systems to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
• Gather, document, and translate business requirements into Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
• Design and optimize data workflows and data management processes.
• Create and maintain data-related documentation such as BRDs, data dictionaries, and mapping specifications.
• Develop and present visual models, dashboards, and reporting to communicate trends and performance.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirement sessions to resolve data and system-related issues.
• Collaborate closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
• 13+ years hands-on experience as a Business/Data Analyst in IT with strong analytical and documentation skills.
• 13+ years proven collaboration with technical & non-technical teams.
• 10+ years designing and optimizing data workflows and data management processes.
• 10+ years well-versed in writing Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
• 8+ years creating/maintaining data documentation (BRDs, data dictionaries, mapping specs).
• 8+ years designing/presenting data models and dashboards.
• 8+ years leading data-focused workshops/meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
