e&e is seeking a Business Data Architect for a remote contract opportunity in Philadelphia, PA!
The Business Data Architect is a hybrid role combining expertise in data architecture, business architecture, and business analysis. This individual plays a pivotal role in driving enterprise-wide data transformation by aligning business needs with robust data management principles within the Epic ecosystem. Working across business operations, IT, and analytics teams, the Business Data Architect will design and guide data frameworks that enhance operational efficiency, support clinical and business decision-making, and promote a data-driven culture.
This fully remote position requires work to be performed during standard business hours (EST). The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of Epic Cogito and Clarity, along with experience in tracking Epic build records and supporting or implementing Epic Radar dashboards.
Responsibilities:
β’ Lead data architecture and business process analysis to align enterprise analytics with operational goals.
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to document and translate business and clinical requirements into logical data models and technical specifications.
β’ Facilitate discovery sessions with business, IT, and analytics teams to assess current Epic build and data models and define future state data architecture.
β’ Identify and document existing Epic build records and determine their impact on dashboards and reporting assets.
β’ Partner with analysts to implement or update Epic Radar dashboards impacted by Epic build changes.
β’ Evaluate database structures and data models for performance, scalability, and compliance with enterprise standards.
β’ Develop documentation for business processes, data lineage, and system integrations to ensure traceability and transparency.
β’ Serve as a liaison between operational teams, developers, and data analysts to ensure frictionless and proactive management of process and data changes.
β’ Support and maintain alignment between data strategy, governance standards, and Epic reporting workflows.
β’ Participate in the implementation of Epic Cogito components and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust data solutions are delivered on schedule.
Requirements:
Education:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Health Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, or a related quantitative field
β’ Masterβs degree preferred
Certifications & Licensure:
β’ Required: Epic Clarity Data Model certification (clinical or financial).
β’ Preferred: Epic Cogito PM certification or equivalent credentials.
Experience & Skills:
β’ Proven experience in Epic Cogito and Clarity environments, including build tracking and data model comprehension.
β’ Strong understanding of Epic Radar dashboard development and maintenance.
β’ Demonstrated ability to lead or participate in enterprise data transformation projects.
β’ Proficiency in data modeling, business process documentation, and system requirement analysis.
β’ Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including clinicians, analysts, developers, and project managers.
β’ Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical data models.
β’ Strong project management skills with a focus on detail, prioritization, and stakeholder coordination.
