Business Intelligence Architect (SQL/Azure)

Our client is looking for a Business Intelligence Architect with experience in data warehousing, data analysis, multi-dimensional modeling, and ETL processes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Analysis Services, and OLAP/Tabular cubes. You will be responsible for architecting, developing, and optimizing complex data models, ensuring data quality, and building robust reporting solutions for the organization. Duration: 12 months Location: Hybrid 2d/week NYC Key Responsibilities: • Architect, design, and implement data warehouse solutions using star schema, snowflake schema, fact and dimension tables, and ETL processes. • Conduct source-to-target mapping, data analysis, and multi-dimensional and relational modeling to meet business needs. • Lead the design of database tables and structures, create views, functions, and stored procedures as required. • Develop and optimize Azure Analysis Services (AAS) Tabular Models, ensuring efficient data model development, deployment, and querying. • Design and create OLAP/Tabular cubes, automating processes to meet analytical and business intelligence needs. • Implement dynamic security models using DAX functions in Azure Analysis Services and OLAP cubes. • Write optimized SQL queries, ensuring data integration, security, and quality while managing partitions and indexes. • Utilize performance monitoring tools like SQL Profiler and DMVs to troubleshoot long-running queries, resolve deadlocks, and optimize cubes. • Collaborate with teams to apply data visualization best practices and build insightful reports using Power BI, Cognos, Tableau, or similar tools. • Tell data-driven stories through visualizations and reports, informing business leaders about key factors driving outcomes. • Act as a subject matter expert on data warehousing, database design, and BI tools, providing guidance and support to the team. • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, presenting data insights and technical solutions. Required Qualifications: • 12+ years of experience in data warehousing, data analysis, multi-dimensional and relational modeling, star schema, snowflake schema, and ETL processes. • 10+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server and relational SQL databases. • 5+ years of experience with Azure Analysis Services (AAS) in data model development and deployment. • Extensive experience in developing, optimizing, and administering Tabular Models in Azure Analysis Services. • Strong expertise in OLAP/Tabular cube development and DAX function-based dynamic security implementation. • Proficiency in writing optimized SQL queries and maintaining database security, performance, and data quality. • Experience or knowledge of reporting tools like Power BI, Cognos, or Tableau. • Experience applying data visualization best practices to tell compelling data stories through visuals and reports.
