Business Intelligence Developer

e&e is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer for an onsite contract opportunity in Philadelphia, PA! The Senior BI Engineer is responsible for defining, designing, and developing scalable data delivery mechanisms to support enterprise analytics initiatives. This role involves building interactive dashboards, canned reports, and self-service analytics, while ensuring optimal performance, governance, and security. The Senior BI Engineer collaborates closely with business users, analysts, product teams, data modelers, and engineering teams to standardize and deliver actionable insights through modern BI solutions. Responsibilities: • Design and develop a modern, scalable BI infrastructure to support enterprise data analytics initiatives. • Build user-friendly dashboards and canned reports to provide actionable insights for decision-making. • Develop and maintain analytics packages to support self-service and ad-hoc analytics. • Prepare and deliver training materials for dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics tools. • Optimize BI performance and automate processes to improve speed, reliability, and cost-efficiency. • Collaborate with business teams to standardize key metrics, KPIs, and OKRs. • Partner with data modelers to publish and maintain BI data models. • Ensure compliance with data governance policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements. • Implement continuous improvement practices for BI processes and tools. • Work with operations teams to establish incident management processes and ensure BI platform stability. • Oversee BI software upgrades, maintenance, user access management, troubleshooting, and content organization. • Perform additional duties as required. Requirements: • Proven experience with BI platforms, including administration, upgrades, user management, and troubleshooting (e.g., Tableau). • Strong understanding of data modeling approaches, including relational, dimensional, and non-relational models. • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse. • Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to write complex queries for analysis, profiling, validation, and reconciliation. • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and best practices for data security. • Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments. • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. • Ability to stay current with emerging BI and cloud analytics technologies, applying new tools and methods to business needs.
