About the Role:

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join our System Design and Mission Assurance Team, where you will play a critical role in ensuring operational excellence and safety as we move toward commercial deployment. This role is focused on building scalable BI solutions, enabling metric-driven insights, and ensuring that high standards of data quality, visibility, and usability are met across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver automated, actionable BI solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain reliable data models and ETL pipelines to ensure clean, scalable, and high-quality data assets.
• Partner with data engineers and data scientists to define consistent and accurate metrics across the organization.
• Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations using tools like Looker to support data-driven decision-making.
• Promote data literacy by building self-service analytics tools and providing training to end-users.
• Uphold best practices in analytics, including data validation, integrity checks, scalability, and clear documentation.
• Translate business needs into technical solutions, delivering under tight timelines when necessary.
Qualifications (Required):
• 6+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or a related field.
• Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related industry experience.
• Expert-level SQL skills and strong experience with dbt (data build tool).
• Experience building and maintaining dimensional data models for reporting and analytics.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools, particularly Looker.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially with cross-functional teams.
Bonus Qualifications:
• dbt Certification
• Experience working with Airflow for orchestration
• Background in Analytics Engineering
• Experience in a safety-critical or high-compliance environment
