Business Intelligence Specialist

Title: Power BI Specialist / Power BI Developer Assignment Period: 2025-09-08 to 2025-10-06 Work Type: Remote Pay Rate: $50.95 hour Job Description We are seeking a Power BI Specialist experienced in building custom Power BI dashboards. This role focuses on migrating an existing Excel-based dashboard into Power BI while optimizing usability and enhancing visualization. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data visualization principles and dashboard development. Key Responsibilities • Requirements Gathering: Work with stakeholders to capture current Excel dashboard functionalities, identify pain points, and define requirements for an enhanced Power BI solution. • Data Source Integration: Connect Power BI to data sources, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and efficient performance. • Dashboard Design & Development: Build intuitive, interactive, and visually compelling dashboards/reports that highlight KPIs and insights. • Testing & Validation: Validate data accuracy and business logic by reconciling with the existing Excel dashboard. • Documentation: Provide clear documentation of data sources, models, DAX formulas, and dashboard logic for maintainability. Required Skills & Experience • Proven experience as a Power BI Developer with a strong portfolio of delivered dashboards. • Advanced expertise in Power BI Desktop, including: • DAX formula creation and optimization. • Power Query (M language) for complex transformations. • Data modeling (star schema, snowflake schema). • Hands-on experience migrating reports from Excel (or similar platforms) into Power BI. • Strong grasp of data visualization best practices with the ability to present insights clearly. • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy. • Excellent communication skills for requirement gathering and presentation. • Ability to work independently and manage project timelines.
