Role description

We are currently seeking a Business Process Reengineering Specialist. Candidates must be located within a 90-minute drive of Lansing, MI and be U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders. The work schedule is hybrid, consisting of two days onsite in Lansing, MI (Tuesdays & Wednesdays) and three days remote.
Role Overview
• Gather and document clear, unambiguous, and testable business requirements from the client.
• Thoroughly understand the business requirements to communicate needs and system functionality to technical stakeholders, non-technical stakeholders, project team members, and the user community.
• Work with the project team and stakeholders to examine existing and future-state business processes, data, and systems.
• Use this information to guide the gathering of business requirements as they relate to desired system functionality.
Objective
• 80% effort: Requirements gathering for an upcoming IT project.
• 20% effort: Use existing templates to create content/reference material for business analyst (BA) and quality assurance (QA) roles and business subject matter experts (SMEs) to create cohesiveness between business, technical staff, and the project management office.
• Benefit Production Support activities by improving management of the Azure DevOps backlog, user stories, and management of Azure DevOps cards for work progress.
Coaching and Training Duties
• Provide training, shadowing, and coaching to existing and upcoming BA/QA roles and SMEs.
• Tailor existing content and processes to business area needs, including standards, policies, procedures, and existing/provided templates.
• Add context for using Azure DevOps to create project artifacts in a fast-paced Agile development and maintenance delivery team.
Key Responsibilities
• Facilitate requirements gathering meetings to identify impacted business processes and document project business requirements.
• Ensure attendees include relevant project team members and stakeholders as identified in the Communication Plan.
• Adhere to the project schedule by developing and maintaining the project backlog during Agile projects.
• Work with the product owner to set priorities throughout the project duration.
• Understand project scope and actively monitor the requirements process to maintain adherence to project objectives.
• Understand high-level information governance objectives and ensure appropriate stakeholder inclusion and awareness regarding data requirements.
• Resolve critical IT issues as they pertain to the BPRS role.
• Provide information and analysis for Build vs. Buy project decisions.
• Understand project-specific benefits and assess the impact of changes to project scope or business requirements.
• Ensure SEM deliverables owned by the BPRS are completed, reviewed, and approved in alignment with area processes.
• Work directly with UI/UX solution architects, database administrators, developers, QA testers, and other team members.
• Ensure understanding of the requirements, functionality, size, and scalability of the IT solution.
Ideal Candidate:
• Has a training/teaching background and a proven track record in the subject matter area of business analyst/quality assurance process and process improvement in an Agile environment using Azure DevOps as the tool.
• Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
Required Skill Sets:
• Five years’ training/teaching background.
• Five years’ experience as a Business Analyst SME.
• Five years’ experience with Quality Assurance Knowledge.
• Five years’ Azure DevOps Knowledge (comfortable with creating epics/features for projects).
• Five years’ understanding of BA, QA, DEV roles/responsibilities.
• Five years’ experience with as-is/to-be processes and content creation.
• Three years’ experience with creating product roadmap.
• Three years’ familiarity with Project Management Methodologies/Agile.
• Three years’ adept with using/teaching tools (e.g., FIGMA, Visio).
• Five years’ experience engaging in business process analysis, understanding the customer's business process requirements, and capable of translating those business requirements into business and technical documentation and specifications.
• Five years’ experience with system testing.
