Job Description:
Project Brains, a global leader in tech services with a focus on data and AI is seeking an experienced CV Camera Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dallas. This role is pivotal to maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of our camera systems during second shift operations, particularly for calibrations and rectifications post working hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize camera calibration algorithms, ensuring accurate intrinsic and extrinsic parameter calibration and lens distortion correction.
- Perform comprehensive camera Field of View (FOV) checks and make adjustments as per project specifications.
- Standardize calibration procedures for various camera types, including RGB, RGB-D, stereo cameras, and potentially LiDAR sensors.
- Establish real-time monitoring systems for assessing camera performance and stability.
- Troubleshoot and correct calibration drifts to maintain high-quality data.
- Support 3D reconstruction processes by applying expertise in 3D model generation and scene understanding.
- Integrate camera systems into large-scale, real-time video processing pipelines and support related computer vision projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and researchers, to ensure optimal data flow and system performance.
- Create and uphold extensive documentation for calibration methods and camera specifications, contributing to best practice frameworks.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Optics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of core expertise in camera calibration, with a thorough understanding of camera parameters and lens distortion models.
- Proficiency in Python and / or C++ and familiarity with computer vision libraries like OpenCV.
- Knowledge of common camera models such as pinhole, fisheye, and omnidirectional.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and ability to work collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in 3D reconstruction techniques like Structure from Motion (SfM) and Multi-View Stereo (MVS).
- Familiarity with a range of camera types used in computer vision, including industrial and specialized depth cameras.
- Understanding of real-time video processing frameworks and data optimization strategies.
- Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of deep learning applications in computer vision is advantageous.
- Previous experience in a production environment with stringent quality control processes.
