Job description:
Position Overview:
The Certification Data Analyst (CDA) reports to the Certification and Compliance Manager and serves as a critical team member for Medicaid Enterprise System (MES) projects. The CDA leads the development of outcome statements and operational reporting, working closely with project teams, business leads, vendors, and various stakeholders to ensure compliance with Medicaid and CMS criteria. The role is key to driving successful MMIS/CMS Certification by adhering to program management guidelines, CMS expectations, and internal project schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
• Gather, clean, and transform data from various sources for analysis, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Apply statistical methods and tools to analyze data, identify patterns/trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Administer and maintain the outcome statements database.
• Create visualizations (charts, graphs, dashboards) to clearly communicate data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Draft MES outcome statements and metrics to support program and project team objectives.
• Identify data-related problems, propose solutions, and implement strategies to improve processes and outcomes.
• Maintain timelines related to the Operational Workbook Report (OWR).
• Collaborate with Business Leads and Project Teams to create and update NC-specific outcome statements.
• Contribute drafted outcome statements to Advanced Planning Documents (APDs).
• Present data insights and certification updates in meetings and CMS presentations.
• Provide guidance to project leads and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on certification-related inquiries.
• Attend and support CMS certification reviews and presentations.
Reporting Structure:
• Reports To: Certification and Compliance Manager
• Works With: Business Leads, Project Teams, Functional/Matrix Managers, Vendors, SMEs, and CMS Stakeholders
Required Skills:
• CMS Medicaid Enterprise Systems or federal regulations experience
• MMIS / CMS certification experience
• Proficiency with spreadsheet tools like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
• Experience using data to improve organizations
• Experience implementing information systems in a client-facing role
• Familiarity with CMS Medicaid Enterprise Certification Life Cycle process
• Implementation/SDLC methodologies experience (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, or Iterative)
• Experience with data visualization software
• Demonstrated experience using project tracking tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, MITA Pul
