This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, data visualization experience, and a background in community-focused research. As a fully remote contractor, you will be responsible for analyzing demographic and program usage data, producing clear visual summaries, and creating GIS maps to inform planning decisions. Key Responsibilities Analyze existing demographic, participation, and facilities data provided by the client Prepare visualizations, summary tables, and charts for use in presentations and reports Develop GIS maps identifying geographic service areas, coverage gaps, and usage trends Collaborate with the project team to interpret findings and align data products with community needs Ensure data products are accurate, readable, and tailored for public-sector audiences Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis, GIS mapping, or urban/community planning Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and tools like Excel, Tableau, or similar platforms Experience working with public data sets such as Census, ACS, or county-level data Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to present complex data simply Excellent communication and responsiveness in a fully remote environment Work Environment & Schedule Fully remote and flexible hours Weekly check-ins with project manager; deadlines tied to internal and client milestones Independent 1099 contract role Job Type: Contract Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour Compensation Package: 1099 contract Schedule: Monday to Friday Work Location: Hybrid remote in Silver Spring, MD 20902
