Potential tasks that the consultant/vendor will be responsible for carrying out include:
Roles and Responsibilities
β’ AI/ML-driven automation: Develop and implement AI/ML algorithms to automate the analysis of chemical trade data and other chemical information (literature, web, external chemical databases, etc.) to assess the chemical supply chain and probabilistically evaluate commercially viable routes of synthesis for organic compounds
β’ Data visualization and analysis: Analyze complex chemical data sets to derive insightful conclusions
β’ Database management: Supply chain data collection and analysis
β’ Documentation and Reporting: Write scientific reports and articles through analysis of data, synthesizing and distilling key information
β’ Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with other chemists and data scientists to align with project goals
Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs or Masterβs Degree in chemoinformatics, computational chemistry, molecular modelling, or a closely related field, with a focus in machine learning or artificial intelligence
β’ At least 1 year experience in working in the pharmaceutical or fine chemical industry
β’ Experience working with various chemical data formats, chemical descriptors, molecular representations and enumerations, indexing, chemical reactions, and property predictors
β’ Experience with AWS, SQL, Python, Unix shell scripting, experience with machine learning infrastructure and open-source machine learning platforms and software development (e.g., GitHub).
β’ Experience building, managing and working with large chemical data sets, including chemical reactions databases or virtual libraries desired.
β’ Broad knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry desired
β’ Ability to work independently as well as in a matrixed team
β’ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
β’ Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
