Job OverviewWe are seeking an accomplished Chief Digital Officer to provide visionary leadership and strategic execution for a large-scale healthcare technology transformation. This role will join the executive informatics and technology team, driving innovation, coordinating critical initiatives, and enabling modern, efficient healthcare delivery systems.
Key Responsibilities
Actively participate as a member of the executive leadership team, collaborating across disciplines including clinical, informatics, and operations leadership
Develop and deliver implementation plans, staffing models, training roadmaps, and technology recommendations
Oversee development of dashboards and reporting tools to support operational oversight
Organize and prioritize implementation of technology solutions that address quality of care, operational efficiency, and accountability
Lead strategic planning and execution of new solutions including Epic scheduling, credentialing, cost accounting, and other high-impact projects
Ensure business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven initiatives are fully supported and mature over time
Translate strategic goals into clear milestones and track progress using best practices in project management
Qualifications
20+ years of progressive leadership in healthcare technology across hospitals/clinics, health plans, public health, and behavioral health environments
Deep understanding of large county or government health systems including finance, procurement, service delivery, and IT
Demonstrated success leading Epic EHR implementations and supporting related modules
Expertise overseeing Analytics/AI, Epic Clinical systems, IT infrastructure, and data center teams with 200+ staff
Strong understanding of healthcare finance in Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environments and California Medi-Cal programs
Experience leading quality improvement and population health initiatives such as QIP and CalAIM
Background in agile software development and project management; Certified Scrum Master preferred
Current or previous CPHIMS certification
Demonstrated experience driving complex, high-profile system-level transformation efforts
Strong skills in developing and tracking deliverables, metrics, and outcomes
Ability to develop and manage complex dashboards, integrating them with Epic systems and data warehouses
Exceptional collaboration, leadership, and communication abilities
