Job Description – ClearPay Developer (Java 8) Job Title: ClearPay Developer (Java 8) Location: Remote Employment Type: Contract / Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking an experienced ClearPay Developer with strong expertise in Java 8 and enterprise payment processing systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing, enhancing, and supporting ClearPay payment applications, integrating payment gateways, and delivering secure, scalable solutions for financial transaction processing. This role requires a strong background in Java application development, payment processing workflows, backend API development, and banking/payment industry standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build reliable, high-performance payment solutions while ensuring compliance with security and PCI-DSS standards. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise payment applications using Java 8 and the ClearPay platform. • Build scalable, high-performance backend services to support payment processing and financial transactions. • Integrate payment applications with banking systems, payment gateways, and third-party financial services. • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and SOAP Web Services. • Support payment authorization, settlement, reconciliation, and transaction processing workflows. • Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes. • Optimize application performance, reliability, and system scalability. • Develop unit tests and support integration, system, and user acceptance testing. • Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices. • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA engineers, and production support teams. • Support deployments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments. • Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and operational support documents. • Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS standards and secure software development practices. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • 5+ years of professional Java development experience. • Strong hands-on experience with Java 8. • Experience working with the ClearPay payment platform/application. • Strong knowledge of Core Java, Collections, Multithreading, and Concurrency. • Experience developing RESTful APIs and SOAP Web Services. • Strong understanding of the payment processing lifecycle, including: • Payment Authorization • Settlement • Reconciliation • Transaction Processing • Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot. • Strong SQL skills with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL. • Experience using Hibernate/JPA. • Experience with Maven or Gradle. • Proficiency with Git or other version control systems. • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments. • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
