Role description
Job Title: Cloud Data Engineer
Our client is is seeking a Data Engineer to manage multiple IT data engineering and data analytics projects and support activities. Candidates should demonstrate pragmatic SDLC experience, and possess excellent communication, coordination, facilitation and organizational skills. Strong technical writing skills are required to develop documentation including architecture diagrams, design specifications, test scripts, etc.
Length: 6-month contract
Associate Vendors: We are accepting applications from candidates who are currently authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.
Hybrid: The Cloud Data Engineer must be onsite in Tacoma, WA on Tuesday and Wednesday every week.
Role & Responsibilities:
β’ Key initiatives that this Engineer will deliver include:
β’ Migration and conversion of SSRS reports to Power BI
β’ Migration of Databases to Data Lakes or Data Warehouses in Microsoft Azure Fabric
β’ Development and support of Microsoft Azure Data Factory pipelines
β’ Support of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations data analytics and reporting
β’ Review and development of appropriate documentation for existing services
β’ The Data Engineer may also be assigned to software development, implementation, or design projects as required
Required Qualifications:
β’ Must possess expertise in: Structured Query Language (SQL), Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration, Microsoft Azure Cloud Services, Azure Data Factory, ETL/ELT Pipelines, Data Integration, Data Modeling and Warehousing, API Development, Microsoft Azure DevOps, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft SSRS.
β’ Must be experienced following Software Development Lifecycle processes.
β’ Must possess the ability to analyze Data Quality issues and recommend resolutions.
β’ Must be skilled at developing comprehensive technical documentation.
β’ Must possess a flexible, patient, collaborative and creative approach, and be willing to do whatever it takes to ensure success.
β’ Excellent communication and collaboration skills required, including the ability to work effectively with technical and management resources at the Port.
β’ Must possess the ability to translate complex requirements and technical language between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
β’ Must be a residence in the Greater Tacoma area
β’ Must be willing to work onsite twice per week in Tacoma, WA
Desired Qualifications:
β’ Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations is desired.
β’ Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric is desired.
