Cloud Data Engineer

Confidential Opportunity: Cloud Data Engineer Contract-to-Perm | Hybrid | Central Virginia I’m supporting a growing multi-company organisation with a confidential Cloud Data Engineer hire. This is a contract-to-perm opportunity, so the right person must be open to converting permanent after the initial contract period. The business is going through a period of growth and acquisition, with a major focus on Azure data infrastructure, Power BI, ERP cloud migration and scalable reporting across multiple entities. You’ll be helping build and support a production-grade Azure data platform, including Azure Data Factory pipelines, Azure Data Lake Gen2, Synapse serverless SQL, SQL Server CDC, Delta-based data layers and Power BI semantic models. Key experience needed: • Azure Data Factory • Azure Data Lake Gen2 • Azure Synapse • SQL Server / T-SQL • CDC / incremental pipelines • Power BI administration and semantic modelling • DAX, datasets, dataflows and governance • ERP-connected reporting or analytics environments • Python or PySpark beneficial This is best suited to someone who has owned delivery in live, business-critical environments - not someone who has only supported ad hoc reporting.
