We are seeking a Cloud Engineer with hands-on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) experience to join our engineering team. You will build, maintain, and optimize cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Google Cloud Platform services, containerization, and automation to ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and highly available.
Responsibilities:
β’ Design, provision, and manage Google Cloud Platform infrastructure components (VPC, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM) using IaC.
β’ Develop and maintain Terraform templates to automate cloud resource deployment and management.
β’ Implement and manage Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), including cluster setup, maintenance, and workload deployment (e.g., Helm).
β’ Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate infrastructure into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Cloud Build).
β’ Configure and maintain cloud security best practices (network firewall rules, IAM roles, service accounts).
β’ Monitor system performance, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and optimize resources for cost and efficiency.
β’ Develop automation scripts in Python, Bash, or Go for operational tasks and configuration management (e.g., Ansible).
Required Skills:
β’ 2 4 years of cloud engineering experience with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform.
β’ Proficiency in Terraform for IaC.
β’ Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (GKE).
β’ Strong understanding of Google Cloud Platform networking (VPC, subnets, load balancing, firewalls).
β’ Scripting experience (Python, Bash, or Go).
β’ Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools.
β’ Knowledge of cloud security best practices (IAM, service accounts).
β’ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Skills:
β’ Google Cloud Platform Associate Cloud Engineer certification (or equivalent experience).
β’ Experience with Ansible or similar configuration management tools.
β’ Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (Google Cloud Operations, Prometheus, Grafana).
β’ Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform database services (Cloud SQL, Spanner, BigQuery).
β’ Experience optimizing cloud costs and resources.
β’ Understanding of GitOps principles.
β’ Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
