Senior Cloud Engineer
Weβre looking for a Mid-level Cloud Engineer to join a federal IT consulting team focused on modernizing enterprise systems using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and related technologies. In this role, youβll help build and maintain scalable web applications, support migrations from Oracle to PostgreSQL, and work within a microservices architecture. Youβll collaborate closely with Agile teams, contribute to cloud-based deployments using AWS and Terraform, and ensure systems are secure, efficient, and compliant. This position is ideal for someone with strong Java and cloud skills who enjoys problem-solving, working with cross-functional teams, and contributing to impactful federal initiatives.
Job Title: Senior Cloud Engineer
Location: 100% Remote (U.S. Based Only)
Clearance Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder and eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Employment Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Design, develop, maintain, and deliver scalable and reliable software using Java web technologies.
β’ Develop enterprise web-based applications and support legacy system upgrades/migrations.
β’ Collaborate with engineers and product owners to implement user stories using Agile methodology.
β’ Write high-quality software code and develop unit tests.
β’ Conduct reviews and analyses of architectures to ensure compliance with transition plans.
β’ Develop technical documentation and customer presentations.
β’ Maintain regular contact with customers and respond to requests promptly.
β’ Participate in Agile teams, reviewing and estimating user stories.
Key Technical Skills: 10 Years of Experience
β’ Java, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle
β’ Web services (REST Based), Spring, SpringBoot, Hibernate
β’ JSON, XML, JQuery, JavaScript
β’ Splunk, Red Hat Cloud Forms, OpenStack, Tomcat, SOAP
β’ IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, JBoss Application Server
β’ AWS (including AWS Batch, RDS, DMS), Terraform
β’ Experience in migrating applications using Oracle to Postgres SQL
β’ Microservice architecture using Java/J2EE

Additional Requirements:
β’ Clearance: Green Card and US citizen. Able to obtain Public Trust. Prior or Active Public Trust is a plus.
β’ Experience with automation technologies like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Selenium, Jenkins, Nexus, and Docker.
β’ Experience with CI/CD tools for testing and deployment.
β’ AWS certification(s)

β’ Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline
