About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled OpenShift Administrator / DevOps Engineer to manage and optimize Red Hat OpenShift environments across VMs, bare metal, and ROSA (Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS). This role involves deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting containerized applications, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring secure, scalable infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Kubernetes, Linux containers, cloud platforms, and DevOps automation tools.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Administer and manage Red Hat OpenShift environments on VMs, bare metal, and ROSA.
β’ Maintain and upgrade OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) v4.15 and later versions.
β’ Implement and manage OpenShift Data Foundation / Platform Plus and Ceph storage solutions.
β’ Deploy, monitor, and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
β’ Handle cloud infrastructure management on AWS, Azure, and/or IBM Cloud.
β’ Perform application migration and refactoring for containerized environments.
β’ Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible Automation Platform, Chef, Terraform, or equivalent tools.
β’ Implement automation and configuration management for deployments.
β’ Monitor system health and performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
β’ Apply DevOps principles to improve processes and accelerate delivery cycles.
β’ Provide documentation, share knowledge, and train team members.
Required Skills & Experience
β’ 5+ years combined experience managing Red Hat OpenShift environments (VMs, Bare Metal, ROSA).
β’ Hands-on experience with OCP v4.15 and latest stable versions.
β’ Strong expertise in OpenShift Data Foundation, OpenShift Platform Plus, and Ceph Administration.
β’ Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices deployment architectures.
β’ Working knowledge of Java, JBoss, nginx, Node.js, and enterprise application architectures.
β’ Skilled in CI/CD tools: GitLab, Jenkins, Chef, Ansible, Terraform (or similar).
β’ Strong scripting skills and knowledge of configuration management tools.
β’ Familiarity with networking concepts: protocols, firewalls, load balancers.
β’ Excellent analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
β’ Strong communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience with VMware technologies (vCenter, vRA, vRO).
β’ Hands-on experience running OpenShift on bare metal and ROSA.
β’ Additional Azure cloud administration experience.
β’ Knowledge of SSL certificate management.
β’ Familiarity with Agile practices (sprints, kanban, stand-ups).
β’ Experience with container and pod-level monitoring tools (Dynatrace, QRadar).
