Job Tittle: Cloud Engineering AWS – Lead Location: San Diego, CA / Acton, MA , Remote Client: Wipro Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineering Lead with strong expertise in AWS cloud services, Java, Microservices, PySpark, and Scala. The ideal candidate will play a key leadership role in designing, developing, and implementing scalable, cloud-native solutions that drive data processing and application modernization initiatives. This position demands a blend of deep technical proficiency, architectural vision, and hands-on development experience in distributed systems and big data frameworks. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the design and development of cloud-native applications and microservices on the AWS platform. • Architect and implement data processing pipelines using AWS Glue, PySpark, and Scala. • Drive migration and modernization efforts of existing applications to AWS Cloud. • Build scalable and resilient backend systems leveraging Core Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs. • Implement best practices for CI/CD, performance tuning, and infrastructure automation. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams — architecture, DevOps, and data engineering — to deliver high-quality cloud solutions. • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and ensure adherence to coding and design standards. • Integrate security, monitoring, and logging into application design and delivery. Required Skills & Experience: • Experience: 10+ years in software engineering with at least 4+ years in AWS Cloud Engineering. • Programming Languages: Java, Scala, and Python (PySpark). • Cloud Technologies: AWS Glue, Lambda, EMR, S3, EC2, MSK, Kinesis, CloudFormation. • Frameworks: Spring Boot, Microservices architecture. • Data Processing: PySpark, SparkSQL, Glue ETL. • CI/CD & DevOps Tools: Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform (preferred). • Database & Messaging: Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, Kafka, or RabbitMQ. • Strong understanding of Agile development practices and cloud architecture principles. • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
