Role description

We are currently filling the following contract position with our client. The Cloud Engineer will design, implement, manage, and support cloud-based infrastructure and services, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure. This role will collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to ensure the Azure environment is secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. The position requires strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to optimization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, hybrid environment. Responsibilities β€’ Implement and support Azure-based infrastructure solutions, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS components β€’ Automate infrastructure provisioning using ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform β€’ Manage and monitor Azure resources with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights β€’ Enforce security best practices such as RBAC, NSGs, and Azure Policy β€’ Support hybrid cloud environments and integrate on-premises systems with Azure services β€’ Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate Azure services into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions β€’ Optimize Azure resource usage and manage costs with Azure Cost Management and budgeting tools β€’ Maintain documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, and operational procedures β€’ Stay current with Azure innovations and recommend strategic improvements Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience β€’ 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering or IT infrastructure with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure β€’ Hands-on experience with Azure VMs, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, and Entra ID Hybrid β€’ Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python β€’ Experience with IaC tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform β€’ Strong understanding of networking, identity, and security in Azure environments β€’ Preferred: Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400), experience with Azure Application Gateway, Firewall, Load Balancing, AKS, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure Arc, Azure Stack, and Azure monitoring/alerting tools MissionStaff is an equal opportunity employer.
