Senior Cloud Engineer – Observability Platform Location: Westlake, TX or Merrimack, NH Duration: Contract The Role Do you want to work on leading-edge cloud technologies that are transforming how developers build and scale applications? As a Senior Cloud Engineer in the Observability Platform team, you will work within a diverse group of passionate technologists who believe in the power of innovation and collaboration. We believe small, empowered, self-motivated teams can achieve outstanding results. You’ll be contributing to the Foundation & Pipelines squad, which supports the build, deployment, and operation of a new OpenTelemetry (OTEL) observability platform focused on metrics and traces. This role will drive platform enhancements including security, resiliency, and new feature development. Key Responsibilities β€’ Design, build, and support scalable, resilient applications and systems in the cloud. β€’ Contribute to observability platform initiatives for metrics, logging, and tracing. β€’ Develop APIs and automation in Python (or Go). β€’ Build and deploy applications in AWS (EC2, EKS, Lambda, etc.). β€’ Deploy and manage workloads in Kubernetes environments. β€’ Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins. β€’ Troubleshoot Linux-based distributed systems and networking issues. β€’ Collaborate in paired programming and Agile practices with team members. Required Skills & Experience β€’ 5+ years of experience in engineering and supporting distributed, multi-tiered systems at scale. β€’ Strong programming experience in Python (or Go). β€’ Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerization (Docker). β€’ Strong AWS experience (EC2, EKS, Lambda, Step Functions). β€’ Solid CI/CD experience (Jenkins or similar). β€’ Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation). β€’ Experience troubleshooting Linux systems and networking (DNS, load balancers, routers). Nice-to-Have Skills β€’ Experience with observability tools: Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry, Fluentd, FluentBit, etc. β€’ UI development (React, Node.js). β€’ AWS certification. β€’ Experience delivering secure, resilient platforms at enterprise scale. πŸ‘‰ This role is not a DevOps Engineer position.
