Cloud Native Developer (Java/Python Background) Location: Denver, CO Employment Type: Contract Experience: 13+ Years Job Summary We are looking for a Cloud Native Developer with a strong background in Java or Python development who has transitioned into building and managing cloud-native applications and DevOps environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices architecture. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications using modern development practices. • Utilize prior Java or Python development experience to support backend services, automation, and platform integration. • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment. • Develop and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes. • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth deployment cycles. • Monitor application performance and ensure high availability and scalability. • Implement best practices for DevOps, security, and cloud architecture. Required Skills • Strong prior development experience in Java or Python. • Hands-on experience with Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration. • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar. • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. • Understanding of microservices architecture and REST APIs. • Familiarity with Git version control and Agile methodologies. Preferred Skills • Experience with cloud-native frameworks (Spring Boot, Micronaut, Quarkus, etc.). • Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk. • Experience with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda or Azure Functions. • Exposure to Kubernetes operators, Helm charts, or service mesh technologies. Education • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
