Role: Cloud System Developer Contract Length: 3 months initially Location: Remote (UK-based only, with full right to work – no sponsorship available) Start Date: ASAP Sector: Financial Services IR35 Status: Inside IR35 We're working with one of our leading consulting clients supporting on a major financial services project, delivering high-impact cloud infrastructure solutions. They’re looking for a seasoned Cloud System Developer with deep Kubernetes expertise and a strong grasp of GitLab-based DevOps practices, particularly within GitOps frameworks. Key Responsibilities β€’ Architect and oversee Kubernetes clusters, covering setup, scaling, and lifecycle operations β€’ Create and manage Kubernetes operators, ensuring compliance and platform security β€’ Construct and refine CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and GitOps tools (e.g. Flux, Ethos) β€’ Automate Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles β€’ Develop tooling and automation scripts in Golang and other relevant languages β€’ Partner with SRE teams to resolve issues, monitor performance, and maintain system stability β€’ Support application onboarding, including Helm chart deployment and manifest configuration β€’ Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance CI/CD workflows and developer efficiency Required Skills & Experience β€’ 5+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience (including architecture, security, and operator development) β€’ Strong command of Azure services (AKS, networking, identity, resource provisioning) β€’ Skilled in Golang or Python, plus scripting (e.g. Bash, PowerShell) β€’ Proficient with GitLab, GitOps practices, Flux, and Ethos β€’ Solid understanding of SRE principles, observability, and debugging techniques β€’ Experience deploying applications via Helm and managing Kubernetes manifests β€’ Strong analytical, communication, and team collaboration abilities β€’ Knowledge of container security, RBAC, and policy enforcement #PROMOTE-SECOND
