Job Title: Communications Specialist 3 Job Type: Contract Site Type: Hybrid (Redmond, WA) Duration: 10 Months Job Overview: This position supports our Responsible Business Practices (RBP) team, part of the Trusted Technology Group within the Corporate External and Legal Affairs (CELA) organization. The RBP team plays a critical role in advancing our commitment to responsible innovation, ethical business conduct, and human rights across its global operations and supply chain. As we continue to scale its technologies and business practices, the RBP team ensures alignment with international standards such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and our Global Human Rights Statement. This includes documenting legal obligations, supporting supply chain teams, and driving transparency through reporting. This role blends project coordination, strategic communications, technical writing, and data awareness and will contribute to RBP's efforts by managing cross-functional projects, producing the Human Rights Transparency Report, gathering supply chain data in support of the report and other team communications, maintaining external-facing communications platforms (e.g., SharePoint), supporting the team’s communications strategy, and building out playbook process documentation. The role requires strong collaboration across teams and levels, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to leverage AI tools to streamline workflows and deliver insights. Job Responsibilities: • Project Management (Non-IT Focus) • Plan, direct, and coordinate human rights and supply chain subject-related projects with a specific focus on communication, reporting and data • Develop detailed project plans, assess feasibility, and integrate cross-functional activities • Maintain stakeholder relationships relative to projects across departments and levels, fostering collaboration and clarity • Content Creation & Communications • Develop clear, compelling messaging aligned with RBP’s mission and Microsoft’s broader Responsible AI and sustainability initiatives • Write, edit, and produce a variety of content, including web content, reports, newsletters, and technical documentation to capture processes and procedures • Ensure quality, acuracy, and effective storytelling aligned with corporate messaging • SharePoint & Visual Design • Maintain and update business content on the team’s SharePoint site for stakeholders • Design and implement visual solutions for web interfaces and publications • Create charts, graphs, and layouts based on data and design principles • Data Analysis & Reporting • Collect, manage, and analyze supply chain data to support human rights report and related communications • Maintain historical data in a structured, version-controlled format to enable trend analysis and audit readiness • Generate insights from collected data to inform strategy, enhance storytelling, and support decision-making • Collaborate on AI tool development with internal teams to improve data capture, analysis, and visualization Job Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Design, or a related field; PMI or PMP certification preferred • 3–5 years of experience in non-IT project management, communications, content creation, and technical writing • 5-7 years of experience with stakeholder data collection and historical data management practices with ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights to support reporting and strategic decision-making • Ability to collect, organize, and manage data from multiple teams, not deep analysis but ensuring data is accurate and accessible for reporting • 5-7 years of experience coordinating reports, documentation, and communications projects, including stakeholder engagement and tool/process development • Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities • Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities and ambiguous settings • Proficiency with Microsoft platforms and tools including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, SharePoint, Power BI, Planner • Ability to navigate Azure DevOps and leverage AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot to enhance productivity and content quality • Technical writing and documentation skills • Experience with content creation for reports, newsletters, and web platforms • Adobe Creative Suite for layout and visual storytelling • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot for writing, analysis, and workflow automation • Salary Range: $/hr with Medical, Vision, and Dental Benefits
