Content Data Analyst
Location: Hybrid
Type: W2 Contract to permanent
Overview:
Our client is seeking a competitive, self-motivated Content Data Analyst to help drive strategic decisions through data. This role is ideal for someone passionate about uncovering user behavior trends and identifying growth opportunities by interpreting large datasets. The right candidate will be a proactive storyteller with strong communication skills who can turn complex metrics into actionable insights that guide newsroom strategy and content optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Build and maintain reports and dashboards using analytics platforms such as Amplitude.
β’ Analyze user flows and content delivery mechanisms across websites and apps to pinpoint opportunities for improvement.
β’ Provide credible, action-oriented insights to stakeholders, offering recommendations backed by data.
β’ Communicate findings clearly and effectively to non-technical team members, including editorial and leadership teams.
β’ Track and analyze video and article performance, offering content optimization strategies.
β’ Identify new opportunities for content experiences based on user engagement trends.
β’ Segment audiences based on behavioral data to inform content personalization and targeting.
β’ Support A/B testing initiatives to increase engagement; familiarity with GrowthBook is a plus.
β’ Monitor anomalies in user behavior that could indicate product issues and collaborate with engineering teams on resolution.
β’ Uphold data integrity through governance practices and the development of data standardization rules.
β’ Participate in cross-functional initiatives aimed at enhancing data reliability and usability.

β’ Strong interest in news, weather, or digital media coverage.
β’ Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a high level of attention to detail.
β’ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
β’ 5+ years of experience in data analysis for a consumer-facing product.
β’ 3+ years of experience analyzing user behavior and content engagement in a newsroom or editorial environment.
β’ Strong communication skills and ability to translate data into clear business strategies.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $50-55/hour (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
