Role description

Project Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Application Developer to provide technical analysis, development, and support for business-critical systems within the Investment Office, including the Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS), Investment Data Processing (IDaP), and affiliated tools. This role will involve collaboration with ITSU management and interaction with various investment office stakeholders to deliver stable and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Analysis and Design

   • Analyze business requirements and propose technical solutions for new initiatives, enhancements, and issue resolution.

   • Evaluate development options and provide recommendations aligned with project needs and system capabilities.

   • Provide level-of-effort estimates and technical consulting based on system architecture and scripted interfaces.

Development and Testing

   • Design and develop processes for secure and reliable file transfers between the Investment Office and third-party vendors.

   • Support Azure Cloud-based application development in collaboration with ITSU.

   • Assist in Charles River IMS upgrades and integration efforts.

   • Develop custom code and integrations using vendor APIs, primarily in C#.

   • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems, including changes to macros, Excel add-ins, databases, and interfaces.

   • Follow change control procedures for deployment and validate successful execution in production.

Application Support

   • Monitor and support daily operations of Charles River IMS and IDaP systems.

   • Ensure operational continuity for Data Integrity Group, Equities, Fixed Income, Operations, and other stakeholders.

   • Provide technical support for ad-hoc data and system issues related to investment operations.

   • Identify and escalate issues or risks, track resolution progress, and generate periodic reports

   • Deliver regular updates on tasks, deliverables, and project status.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

   • Strong application development experience with C# and API integration.

   • Hands-on experience supporting trading systems or order management platforms like CRIMS.

   • Proficiency with Azure Cloud environments and services.

   • Solid understanding of investment operations, particularly data processing and trade execution workflows.

   • Experience with file transfer automation, Excel Macros/Add-ins, and change control processes.

   • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

   • Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

   • Experience in financial services or pension systems.

   • Familiarity with investment data standards and integration between vendor systems.

   • Background supporting a production investment operations environment.
