Rebate Operations Analyst / Excel Data Analyst

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical Rebate Operations Analyst with advanced Excel expertise to support complex rebate payment operations, pricing models, and large-scale data analysis initiatives.
This role will work closely with underwriting, operations, and leadership teams to support Excel-based pricing and rebate models that leverage technologies including Python and Databricks. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in Excel, comfortable working with large datasets, and enjoys solving complex business and data challenges.
This position is ideal for someone with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Support underwriting and business teams with complex Excel-based pricing and rebate models
• Analyze and troubleshoot side models that leverage:
• Microsoft Excel
• Python
• Databricks
• Perform detailed rebate payment calculations and reconciliations
• Conduct historical payment research and financial analysis
• Manage large datasets and identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement
• Assist with pharmaceutical rebate and cost strategy model support
• Develop and maintain reports, documentation, and training materials
• Train and cross-train team members on payment processes and operational standards
• Partner with leadership to improve and automate payment processes
• Support special projects focused on operational efficiency and process optimization
• Communicate payment details and analysis to internal stakeholders and leadership teams
• Collaborate with audit teams and operational partners to improve reporting and controls
• Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and training plans
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of professional experience in data analysis, operations, finance, rebate operations, or similar analytical roles
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including:
• Pivot Tables
• VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
• Trace Dependents / Trace Precedents
• Complex formulas and data analysis
• Experience working with large datasets and data reconciliation activities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience supporting business users and troubleshooting Excel-based processes
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in:
• PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management)
• Pharmaceutical rebates
• Contract administration
• Healthcare analytics
• Experience with:
• Python
• Databricks
• Microsoft Access
• VBA
• Experience interpreting financial reports, profit/loss statements, or pricing models
• Experience training and mentoring team members
• Master's Degree preferred
• Experience managing end-to-end deal lifecycle processes
