Data Analyst – Financial Services
Contract: Initial 6 months (with extension/progression potential)
Rate: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience £250 - £500
Location: Belfast or Dublin (some opportunities for fully remote)
Overview
A well-established financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support data analysis, reporting and insight delivery across the business. The role will sit within a structured data environment and will work with multiple data sources to support business decision-making and change initiatives.
This contract opportunity is well-suited to a data analyst with solid financial services or banking experience, strong technical foundations and the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyse, validate and interpret data from a range of enterprise systems
• Deliver clear and accurate reports, dashboards and visualisations
• Translate data requirements into structured analysis and insight
• Support data quality, consistency and documentation standards
• Work alongside technology and delivery teams in an Agile environment
• Contribute to data-related change initiatives, including system enhancements and migrations
• Respond to ad-hoc analysis and reporting requests as required
Required Experience
• 3–8 years’ experience in Data Analysis or a closely related role
• Must have proven experience within financial services or banking environments
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate insight clearly
• Experience working in structured, delivery-focused teams
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, ideally SQL and/or Python (R also considered)
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau and/or advanced Excel
• Strong understanding of database management and design, including SQL-based databases (e.g. Oracle)
• Experience with ETL processes and data migration between systems
• Familiarity with data governance principles and best practices in data management
Contract Details
• Initial 6-month contract with a likelihood of extension
• Daily rate flexible and aligned to market, based on experience
• Opportunity to work within a mature financial services environment on meaningful data initiatives
• Must be eligible to work in the UK or Ireland
