We are looking for a XR Engineer for our client based in Basildon, Essex.
The responsibilities are:
β’ XR Review Leadership: Prepare, manage, and facilitate immersive XR reviews (Powerwall, HMD, and Desktop) for internal and external customers to support Attribute Assessments and Program Gateway Reviews.
β’ Data & Workflow Management: Manage the department's operational metrics and workflow systems. Utilize PowerBI, Excel, and SharePoint to maintain dashboards that track project status and efficiency.
β’ Data Pipeline: Use Teamcenter to extract complex CAD data, clean and optimize models, and maintain up to-date variants within Autodesk VRED to ensure production-ready visualizations.
β’ Tool Development: Collaborate with customers to develop tailored review environments that serve as active decision-making tools (e.g., integrating decision matrices into the visual session).
β’ Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to the continuous development of XR tools and delivery, identifying opportunities to automate processes and integrate new technologies.
Skills Required:
β’ Technical & Analytical: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to bridge the gap between visual fidelity and data logic.
β’ Data Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (complex data handling), Access, and PowerBI (dashboard creation/maintenance).
β’ Visualization: Functional experience with high-fidelity visualization tools (e.g., VRED, UNREAL, or similar).
β’ Collaboration: Excellent people, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Skills preferred:
β’ Knowledge Teamcenter (structure management) and VisMockUp.
β’ Advanced Visualization: Deep understanding of Autodesk VRED (variants, scene optimization) and Game Engine tools (Unreal Engine).
β’ Programming: Experience coding in Python (for scripting/automation) or C++.
β’ AI & Innovation: Strong understanding of LLMs (Large Language Models) and how they can be applied to generate responses or automate engineering workflows.
β’ IT Infrastructure: Background in IT hardware, networking, and XR hardware systems (HMDs, tracking, render nodes). Experience
Required:
β’ No direct experience required if the candidate holds a degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) based subject.
Experience Preferred:
β’ 3-5 Years of visualisation experience or relevant industry
β’ Working within the Automotive Industry
Education Required:
β’ Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) based subject.
Education Preferred:
β’ Masters Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) based subject
