Title Data Analyst/Report Writer 3 Position Type Full Time Duration 12/16/2025 - 08/31/2026 Interview Mode In-person or Through Microsoft Teams Location Austin, Texas 78751. Position is ONSITE at the location listed above (NO REMOTE WORK). Program will only accept LOCAL ONLY candidates for this position (Within 50-mile radius). DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES • Client seeks 1 Data Analyst/Report Writer 3 meeting all required qualifications in Data/Database Administration. • All project work products are “works made for hire” and property of the Commission; candidates may be required to pass criminal background checks. No fees will be paid for interviews or discussions. • Data reporting analysts transform data into usable information by acquiring data, creating regular reports, correcting code issues, and maintaining error-free, organized databases. • DSHS seeks qualified candidates for the Data Analyst role within the Environmental Epidemiology and Disease Registries Section, performing senior consultative and technical assistance work. • Duties include analyzing DSHS initiatives, documenting data requirements, ensuring data best practices, supporting program optimization, and providing recommendations. • The role also involves leading special projects, developing data analysis tools, defining data requirements, collaborating with staff, and working with extensive independence and judgment. Minimum Requirements • 8 years (Required) – Experience researching, gathering, correlating, and analyzing facts; solving complex problems; prioritizing issues; and preparing concise reports. • 8 years (Required) – Ability to transform data into actionable information to support business decisions; develop and present reports highlighting technology and operational gaps to executive stakeholders. • 8 years (Required) – Experience developing or contributing to as-is/to-be data models to identify opportunities for operational efficiency. • 8 years (Required) – Skilled in data mapping and identifying process improvements; establishing benchmarks and frameworks for operational trend analysis and performance measurement. • 8 years (Required) – Experience analyzing data policies and procedures and determining their impact on automated systems and functional areas. • 8 years (Required) – Ability to acquire data from multiple sources, generate regular reports, perform in-depth trend and correlation analysis, and develop metadata, tables, and user interfaces for clear business reporting. • 8 years (Required) – Experience using creativity and specialized reporting tools to develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations. Preferred Qualifications • 5 years (Preferred) – Experience using creativity and reporting tools to develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations. • 5 years (Preferred) – Experience developing strategic and SDLC project materials (gap analyses, recommendations, roadmaps, requirements, design documents, system/data flow diagrams, test cases, use cases). • 1 year (Preferred) – State or Federal public sector experience. III. TERMS OF SERVICE Services are expected to start 12/16/2025 and are expected to complete by 08/31/2026. Total estimated hours per Candidate shall not exceed 1900 hours.
