Role description
Epitec is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our automotive client's team in Dearborn, MI. As a Data Analyst, the candidate will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between the physical world of automotive testing and the digital world of big data. In this role, you won't just sit behind a screen. You will be a key part of the feedback loop that makes ADAS features exciting for customers. β€’ This is a hybrid position in Dearborn, MI (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) β€’ This is an ongoing W2 contract (with potential for conversion) Top Responsibilities: β€’ Participate in hands-on in-vehicle test drives (development vehicles in Dearborn) to validate ADAS data collection functions and triggers β€’ Execute structured vehicle test plans and document results, including edge cases and failures β€’ Perform deep-dive data analysis on collected datasets to ensure data quality, accuracy, and completeness β€’ Support end-to-end data analysis, including data ingestion, trend identification, anomaly detection, and performance tracking β€’ Write and maintain SQL-based data models using Dataform within the Google BigQuery environment β€’ Build, update, and maintain automated dashboards to track data collection progress and overall system health β€’ Troubleshoot missing, incomplete, or corrupted data by debugging the pipeline from vehicle sensors to cloud systems β€’ Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to coordinate vehicle availability and test schedules β€’ Follow data governance and privacy standards, including proper handling of sensitive and regulated data Qualifications: β€’ Bachelor’s Degree β€’ 1+ year of experience in data analysis, analytics, or systems-level vehicle testing β€’ Strong analytical skills with experience performing end-to-end data analysis and synthesizing insights into actionable recommendations β€’ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, especially in technical or vehicle-based systems β€’ Ability to methodically diagnose issues using logs, hardware checks, software debugging, and configuration analysis β€’ Comfortable working in a hybrid role that combines hands-on vehicle testing with cloud-based data analytics Preferred: β€’ Proficiency in SQL, including joins, aggregations, and subqueries β€’ Experience using Google Cloud Platform, specifically BigQuery β€’ Experience building dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar β€’ Ability to perform data storytelling, translating complex datasets into clear narratives for technical and business stakeholders β€’ Familiarity with data governance practices, including data integrity, access control, and privacy/PII handling β€’ Exposure to automotive systems, ADAS testing, or vehicle data logging is a plus
