Data Analyst (Contract)
Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.
Summary
Our team is looking for a detail-oriented and adaptable Data Analyst to support regulatory reporting and content moderation initiatives. This role is essential in helping the organization meet evolving global compliance requirements while ensuring accurate and independent data analysis and reporting safety data.
Job Responsibilities
β’ Gather, Collate, and Categorize safety-related data from various internal corporate data sources.
β’ Analyze and Interpret data to support safety compliance guidance with international regulatory frameworks.
β’ Interpret for regulatory ACP inquiries and reports (est. at least one per month by end of fiscal year)
β’ Build and maintain queries to extract data for transparency and compliance reports.
β’ Thoroughly understand the regulatory safety frameworks and collaborate with stakeholders to evolve reporting logic in near-real-time as regulations change.
β’ Advise on reporting parameters and ensure alignment with legal and regulatory standards.
β’ Identify and resolve discrepancies in data reporting across systems or platforms.
β’ Ensure consistent and accurate data narratives that reflect the organizationβs unique context.
β’ Work cross-functionally with internal teams to support data infrastructure and reporting needs.
β’ Represent the organization in meetings and contribute to documentation and process reviews.
β’ Participate in regular check-ins and collaborate on onboarding and training initiatives.
β’ Independently prioritize tasks, plan analyses, and deliver actionable insights.
β’ Present findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
β’ Bachelor's degree in technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
β’ 8-10 years of applicable industry experience required.
β’ 3-5 years of experience with advanced SQL and Python scripting for building, optimizing, and maintaining complex queries.
β’ 3 years' experience with tools like Power BI or Tableau to create compelling dashboards and reports.
β’ Hands-on experience with data transformation tools (e.g., Databricks, Apache Spark etc.,).
β’ Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis, automation, and scripting.
β’ Experience with APIs and data pipelines for integrating and automating data flows.
β’ Familiarity with Azure cloud-based data ecosystems (e.g., Azure Data Explorer, Cosmos, Azure Data Lake Storage).
β’ Understanding of data warehousing and distributed computing concepts.
β’ Desire to be working with data and help businesses make better data driven decisions.
β’ Excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills.
β’ Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
β’ Experience in data analysis, preferably in a regulatory or compliance setting.
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
β’ Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
β’ Self-starter with strong planning and prioritization skills.
β’ Knowledge of global data privacy and safety regulations (e.g.,GDPR).
β’ Experience working with compliance teams or legal frameworks is a plus.
β’ Interest in games or experience in gaming industry is a plus.
