Data Analyst (Contract)
Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.
Summary
This is a hands-on technical role supporting a global supply chain planning team focused on field service operations. The position centers on developing and maintaining advanced analytics solutions, automation workflows, and data integration pipelines that enable effective planning, scheduling, and operational decision-making. Working remotely with a geographically distributed team, you will serve as a critical bridge between data engineering and business enablement, spending the majority of your time building Power BI dashboards, writing Python and SQL scripts, and leveraging Microsoft's Azure data ecosystem to transform raw data into actionable insights. This role offers the unique opportunity to work at the intersection of data analytics and supply chain planning, where your technical contributions directly impact mission-critical operations. You will collaborate closely with program managers, engineers, and UX professionals to translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions while maintaining high standards for data quality and governance.
Job Responsibilities
β’ Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards to support planning, scheduling, and labor tracking initiatives
β’ Write and maintain Python and SQL scripts for data transformation, automation, and reporting workflows
β’ Support integration of data from Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Data Factory, and Synapse Analytics
β’ Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into actionable reporting and analytics solutions
β’ Assist in defining and enforcing data governance standards, metadata management practices, and data quality protocols
β’ Contribute to planning and scheduling workflows and support synchronization with enterprise scheduling tools
β’ Explore opportunities to leverage Power Apps and agentic AI concepts to streamline operational workflows
β’ Monitor data reliability and provide stakeholder support for analytics and reporting needs
β’ Stay current with emerging technologies in AI, automation, and data platforms, evaluating their applicability to the business environment
β’ Optimize performance of existing data models and reporting solutions to ensure scalability and efficiency
Requirements
β’ Minimum 4 years of experience in data analytics, reporting, or data engineering roles
β’ Demonstrated experience building and maintaining production Power BI solutions beyond entry-level or academic projects
β’ Proven track record of developing Python and SQL scripts for enterprise data workflows
β’ Experience working with Azure cloud data services and platforms
β’ Background supporting cross-functional teams with data-driven insights and reporting solutions
β’ Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
β’ Successful completion of Power BI technical assessment
β’ Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and performance optimization
β’ Strong hands-on experience with Python for data processing and automation
β’ Expert-level SQL coding ability for complex data queries and transformations
β’ Working knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, and OneLake
β’ Understanding of planning and scheduling best practices and methodologies
β’ Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities
β’ Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
β’ Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
