Role description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance Data Analyst with deep expertise in SQL and extensive hands-on experience working with large, complex datasets. This role will support data-driven decision-making by extracting, transforming, analyzing, and visualizing data across multiple sources. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment. Key Responsibilities • Write advanced SQL queries to extract, clean, and analyze large-scale datasets • Design and optimize database queries for performance and accuracy • Perform data validation, quality checks, and anomaly detection • Analyze structured datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights • Create dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for stakeholders • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to define data requirements • Document data definitions, processes, and analytical methodologies • Support ad-hoc data requests and ongoing analytical projects Required Qualifications • Proven experience as a Data Analyst in a freelance or contract capacity • Advanced SQL expertise (complex joins, CTEs, window functions, query optimization) • Strong experience working with large, diverse datasets • Solid understanding of data modeling and relational databases • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to communicate technical insights to non-technical stakeholders • Comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment Preferred Qualifications • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) • Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis • Experience in business intelligence or product analytics • Prior work in fast-paced or startup environments
