Data Analyst – Data Modeling Strategy

Position: Data Analyst – Data Modeling Strategy Location: Westlake Texas OR Merrimack Duration: Long Term Contract, will be extended every 6 months. Work mode: 2 weeks onsite and 2 weeks remote Pay or Salary: Only on W2 from Day 1 (No C2C) Industry: Banking Financial • • • • Please do not apply if you are looking for C2C • • • • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field. 8+ years of experience in data analysis, data governance, or data modeling. Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Snowflake, Alation, or similar. Strong understanding of data quality metrics, metadata management, and regulatory compliance. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. What are the top MUST haves: Senior level experience, 8-10 years experience in data analytics Communication skills and has business side stakeholders (negotiation, idea generation, etc) Solid SQL for data gathering and analysis is a must Snowflake Oracle AWS Modeling tool, either (PowerDesigner or Erwin) What are the NICE to have skills? Python Collibra or Alation (for governance and analytics) Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Discovery & Alignment Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and data needs. Identify data-related pain points and map data requirements to business goals. Assist in documenting key data domains and creating high-level entity relationship diagrams (ERDs). 1. Governance & Quality Foundation Support the definition of data ownership, stewardship roles, and governance policies. Contribute to the development and monitoring of data quality KPIs. Assist in evaluating and improving metadata tools and documentation standards. 1. Security, Tools & Usage Help classify and secure sensitive data in compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, SEC). Analyze current data tools and support the standardization of modeling and reporting toolkits. Track data usage patterns and support analytics initiatives through dashboards and reports. 1. Scalability & Execution Support change management processes for data model updates. Contribute to the development of a scalable and actionable data strategy roadmap. Assist in prioritizing initiatives and tracking progress toward short- and long-term goals. Additional Responsibilities: Maintain a centralized inventory of data models and ensure integration of KPIs and analytics. Support technical governance processes, including version control and CI/CD for data models. Collaborate with consultants and internal teams to implement tools and build capabilities.
