Responsibilities
Kforce has a client in Purchase, NY that is seeking a Data Analyst. This role is a data centric position supporting Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance by bridging enterprise data platforms and reporting teams. The individual serves as a P&C data subject matter expert and translator, ensuring accurate interpretation of insurance data across systems and reports-without directly developing dashboards or reports. Key Responsibilities:
β’ Partner with enterprise data warehouse and data platform teams supporting P&C insurance data, including enterprise data models, data lineage, and end to end source to report flows
β’ Serve as the primary data liaison between data engineering teams and reporting, analytics, and business users
β’ Translate and contextualize P&C insurance data to ensure accurate interpretation of metrics, KPIs, and data structures
β’ Ensure consistent, approved data definitions across reports, extracts, and analytics use cases
β’ Support reporting initiatives by clarifying business rules, dependencies, and upstream/downstream impacts, while remaining hands off on report and dashboard development
β’ Apply knowledge of insurance source systems (e.g., Guidewire, Genius, SAP) to validate data interpretation and lineage
β’ Develop and validate SQL queries, views, and semantic layer objects against the enterprise data warehouse
β’ Review, reconcile, and certify reporting outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory alignment
β’ Investigate data discrepancies and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
β’ Document data definitions, business rules, and reporting assumptions in support of data governance standards
Requirements
β’ 8+ years of experience as a hands on IT reporting or data analyst
β’ 4+ years of experience working with data and reporting in the Property & Casualty insurance industry
(reinsurance experience preferred but not required)
β’ Strong experience with enterprise data warehousing
β’ Advanced SQL skills with experience querying large scale data warehouses
β’ Solid understanding of dimensional modeling and enterprise reporting concepts
β’ Working knowledge of insurance source systems, including: Guidewire (Policy, Billing, Claims); Genius; SAP
β’ Experience collaborating with reporting and analytics tools such as Strategy (MicroStrategy), Power BI, or similar platforms
β’ Proven ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to non technical stakeholders
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
