Role description
Data Engineering Analyst
6-Month Contract
South West-Based (Hybrid)
Day Rate: £500 pd Inside IR35
We're looking for an experienced Data Engineering Analyst to join a well-established organisation on an initial 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative data function that owns the end-to-end data platform, supporting everything from governance and architecture through to delivering high-quality data solutions.
Working as part of the Salesforce data team, you'll play a key role in supporting business-as-usual operations across the Salesforce ecosystem, investigating production issues, analysing data, and working closely with both technical and business stakeholders to ensure data quality and platform stability.
The Role
As a Data Engineering Analyst, you'll be responsible for investigating and resolving production issues, carrying out detailed root cause analysis, and translating business needs into clear, actionable user stories for the development team. You'll also support environment refresh activities and work across the wider data landscape, including underlying data pipelines where required.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data problems, communicating technical findings to non-technical audiences, and acting as the bridge between business and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Investigate, triage and analyse production issues within the Salesforce environment.
• Perform detailed root cause analysis to identify underlying data issues.
• Translate business and production issues into well-defined user stories for development teams.
• Support Salesforce environment refresh activities.
• Work with underlying data layers to identify and resolve data quality issues.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers and technical leads to deliver effective solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Skills & Experience
We're looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to interrogate and analyse complex datasets.
• Proven experience conducting thorough root cause analysis and problem investigation.
• The ability to translate technical issues into clear business requirements and user stories.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working closely with both business and technical teams.
Desirable Experience
• Experience working with Salesforce data and platforms.
• Knowledge of Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
• Previous experience within a regulated environment such as financial services or wealth management.
