Role description
HR Analyst – HCM/HRIS Focus
2 year contract, with possibility of extension/conversion to FTE
Chicago, IL – 2 days onsite in the loop; 3 days WFH (work from home)
Hourly Pay: $54-60/hr
Summary
This position sits in HR (not on the IT side), and will work with our HRIS/HCM system, which is PeopleSoft, to ensure data quality, perform data audits and spend a good amount of time extracting data, and creating reports. You’ll be 1 of 2 people on the HR team that is technical, so while there are much more senior PeopleSoft engineers on the IT side, we’ll expect you to develop into a SME for the HR department – and are expecting for the first 6 months you start to involve a lot of training, which we’re happy to provide.
PeopleSoft experience is not required, we are mainly looking for someone who has experience writing SQL queries, and experience creating reports from HRIS/HCM systems (doesn’t have to be PeopleSoft). We are happy to train on PeopleSoft, so long you are willing to learn!
This is a long term contract, given we are potentially moving away from PeopleSoft, to another HCM in the future – but will be awhile before we make that decision, where this contract has a likelihood of getting extended, and potentially converting to a full time employee in the future.
What you’ll be doing
• Design, build, and maintain standard and custom reports and queries within the HCM system to support ongoing customer needs.
• Automate, generate, and distribute recurring HR reports for stakeholders, including metrics for headcount, turnover, compensation, and organizational structure.
• Fulfill ad-hoc report and data requests from HR business partners and other departments.
• Conduct regular data audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee information in the HCM and other HR systems.
• Research and resolve reporting discrepancies and system problems, ensuring consistency and reliability of HR data.
• Maintain master data values and perform other operational and maintenance tasks within the HCM platform.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for the HCM system in the HR department, providing end-user support and training to promote efficiency and adoption.
• Assist with the implementation of system updates and new functionality, including gathering requirements and performing user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Document system processes and procedures, creating job aids and training materials for end-users.
• Analyze HR data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for process improvement.
• Translate complex data into actionable insights and present findings to management in a clear and concise manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Payroll, Benefits, and IT, to support system integrations and resolve issues.
Skills we’re seeking
• 2+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Reports Developer, HRIS Analyst, HCM Analyst, or similar skill set working with data within HRIS/HCM systems
• Must have experience writing SQL queries
• Must have technical experience creating reports (tool agnostic, we’ll train you on what we use)
• Must have good communication skills and a passion for data
Nice to haves
• PeopleSoft experience – and if you do, would be awesome if you have experience creating reports with PeopleSoft tools like SQR
• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in an IT or HR related field
