Data Analyst (Hybrid - Troy, MI)

Our Customer is a leading global, diversified information, services and media company with more than 360 businesses. Its major interests include various financial services, medical information and services businesses, and lastly, ownership in cable television networks such as A&E, HISTORY, Lifetime and ESPN; 33 television stations; 24 daily and 52 weekly newspapers; digital services businesses; and nearly 250 magazines around the world. Our Customer is seeking a Data Analyst on a contract basis to help support their business needs. This role is hybrid in Troy, MI. Responsibilities • Conduct full lifecycle data analysis, including requirements gathering, activity analysis, and solution design • Develop and implement data collection systems, databases, and analytics strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and data quality • Acquire data from primary and secondary sources; maintain and enhance databases and data systems • Interpret complex data sets, analyze results using statistical techniques, and generate ongoing reports • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in large and complex data sets • Filter and clean data by reviewing reports, printouts, and performance indicators to identify and resolve data quality issues • Monitor data performance and quality control plans to identify opportunities for improvement • Present findings and insights through clear and effective reporting Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a related field • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst • Technical expertise in data models, database design, data mining, and segmentation techniques • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting tools (e.g., Business Objects), databases (e.g., SQL), and programming languages (e.g., XML, JavaScript, ETL frameworks) • Proficiency in statistical tools such as Excel, SPSS, SAS, or similar software • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy • Skilled in writing queries, generating reports, and presenting data-driven insights Hours & Location • Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week • Hybrid in Troy, MI (highly preferred).
